Selda’s journey into the world of food began at George Brown College in Canada, where she studied Restaurant Management. However, her passion for cooking—and food’s ability to bring people together—has always been at the heart of her life. Through countless shared meals and the joy of creating meaningful experiences, Selda's love for food blossomed. While in college, she gained experience in catering, fine dining, working with a 100-year-old food distributor, and many other areas of the restaurant industry. She organized sold-out pop-up events, hosted special gatherings, and contributed recipes to prominent magazines.

When the Covid pandemic hit, Selda took over a small, hidden gem of a restaurant. With the help of her husband’s extensive experience in the industry, they turned the modest space into a success, despite the tough times. They also partnered with FoodForNow, donating leftover food and giving back to the community.

Over the years, their restaurant has catered to well-known businesses, refining their craft and building a reputation for excellence. Two years in a row, they were named Top Choice Mediterranean Restaurant in Etobicoke. But Selda’s dream was always to bring something unique to Queen Street West. After a year of searching for the perfect location, her vision came to life with Dodoner—a place where high-quality ingredients and artisanal flavors come together through continuous dedication and effort.
